CHICAGO - The Chicago Sky have waived guard Yvonne Turner. The 5-foot-9 point guard signed as a free agent to training camp on April 21, 2014.
Turner was just the sixth player in Nebraska University history with 1,000 points, 200 assists and 200 steals. After graduating with All-Big 12 and Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2010, Turner played overseas in Australia, Germany and Russia. In 2013 she returned to the United States and signed a training camp contract with the San Antonio Stars where she appeared in two preseason games.
The Sky's home opener against Eastern Conference rival Indiana Fever will take place at the Allstate Arena on Friday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. CT. The game will broadcast on The U Too.
