ICAGO - The Chicago Sky has waived forward Evelyn Akhator, the team announced today.
Akhator was signed to a training camp contract by Chicago on February 13 after competing overseas for Besiktas in Istanbul, Turkey. A 6-foot-3 Nigerian former University of Kentucky standout, Akhator was originally drafted with the No. 3 overall pick of the 2017 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings.
The Sky face the Indiana Fever at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Thursday, May 15 at 11 a.m. CST for their second and final preseason game before the 2019 regular season.
