Chicago Sky To Serve Seniors

CHICAGO, May 5, 2010 - Chicago Sky President and CEO Margaret Stender announced today that Chicago Sky athletes and staff in conjunction with Meals on Wheels will be serving lunch to the residents at the 79th Street Senior Center in Chicago, IL on Tuesday, May 11.

The Sky will be at the center from 11am-1pm to spend lunch time with the residents and participate in social activities following the mid-day meal.

"This is a great opportunity for our organization to give back to the community in a unique way through a great group such as Meals on Wheels," Stender said. "It will be a fun time for the center's residents as well as our athletes and staff."

Tuesday's are "Gospel Tuesdays" at the center which includes a DJ and dancing.

"While our primary focus is to provide funding to support our partners, we are always looking for ways to enhance the lives of seniors in our community. Partnering with the Chicago Sky to spend the day volunteering is a wonderful opportunity for our seniors. It is a day I am sure both senior and volunteer will treasure," said Kimberly Siske, Executive Director, Meals on Wheels Chicago.

The center is located at 1767 East 79th street at Cregier.
