Chicago Sky To Select Three Players In WNBA Rookie Draft

The Chicago Sky will select three college players in the WNBA Draft in Tampa on Wednesday, April 9, from what has been hailed as the best rookie class in WNBA history. The Sky has the number two pick in the first round of the draft. The Sky also has the 19th pick (5th in the second round) and the 33rd pick (5th in the third round). General Manager and Head Coach Steven Key and Assistant Coach Stephanie White will participate in the draft from the Sky's Chicago offices via teleconference beginning at noon (CDT).

Members of the media are invited to watch the draft with Chicago Sky staff and Coach Key will be available for comments after each Sky pick and at the conclusion of the draft. ESPN2 will provide exclusive first round coverage of the 2008 WNBA Draft, with continued coverage of the second and third rounds on both ESPNU and NBA TV. WNBA.com will provide complete analysis and comprehensive coverage throughout all three rounds.

At the top of this year's draft class are Louisiana State center Sylvia Fowles and Tennessee forward and Naperville native Candace Parker, who will meet on the court Sunday night in the second game of the 2008 NCAAW Final Four.

The Sky's top two draft picks will be available for interviews at the Sky's offices in downtown Chicago on Thursday, April 10, from 10-12, along with the coaching staff and senior management.
