Chicago Sky Host The Height Of Fashion On September 8

CHICAGO, August 27, 2009 - The Chicago Sky will host The Height of Fashion on September 8, 2009, a fundraiser fashion show to raise money for breast cancer services and education with proceeds going to A Silver Lining Foundation (ASLF). ASLF provides access to cancer resource information, treatment options and cost free mammograms.

NBC5's Lauren Jiggets will emcee the fashion show which will take place at the Westin Hotel located at 909 N. Michigan Ave. at 7:00 p.m., featuring all 11 Sky players. Tickets are $25 and are available for purchase on www.chicagosky.net and at the next two Sky home games - August 28 against the New York Liberty at 7:30 p.m. and September 4 against the Washington Mystics at 7:30 p.m.

"Being a model and working the runway is definitely a new job experience for me, but it's for a great local foundation that helps women in need, so I'm up for the challenge," said Sky Forward Candice Dupree. "It's bound to be a fun night for everyone in attendance, and will give our fans a chance to see us trade in our hi-tops for high heels!"

Sky athletes will each walk the runway a total of three times, modeling three originally designed and donated outfits by some of Chicago's up-and-coming designers. The three outfits modeled include a casual outfit, formal outfit and an ASLF silver themed gown which will be available to own via a silent auction throughout the evening. The silent auction gowns will have a base bid of $160, the cost per mammogram through ASLF. The silent auction will also feature Chicago Sky autographed memorabilia.
