
Dream Forward Holdsclaw Undergoes Successful Surgery

Atlanta, August 27, 2009- Dream forward Chamique Holdsclaw underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on her right knee, the team announced today. A full recovery is expected. Holdsclaw did not make the trip to Detroit with the team, which faces the Shock tonight in a battle for playoff position. She is listed as day-to-day.
Holdsclaw, a 6-2 forward, missed the last two games due to soreness in her right knee and underwent surgery on August 25. The Dream's leading scorer, she started all 25 previous games, averaging 13.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
The Dream currently sits in second place in the Eastern Conference with the top four teams making the playoffs. The Dream will celebrate Fan Appreciation Night on September 11 in the team's final regular season home game. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 pm at Philips Arena.
