
Chicago Sky Home Opener Set for May 19 at Allstate Arena

CHICAGO - Returning the 2015 WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne and seven-time WNBA All-Star Cappie Pondexter, the Sky begins the 34-game regular season on the road against the Minnesota Lynx on May 14. The Chicago Sky's home opener will take place on Friday, May 19 against the Atlanta Dream at Allstate Arena. The Sky enters its twelfth WNBA season with an experienced roster following a fourth consecutive playoff appearance.
Chicago's 2017 schedule features two ESPN2 national broadcasts throughout the season - Tuesday, June 6 against Naperville Central High School graduate Candace Parker of the defending WNBA Champions Los Angeles Sparks and Tuesday, July 18 against Chicago-native Jewell Loyd of the Seattle Storm. Other highlights include a matchup against Brittney Griner and the Phoenix Mercury on June 1. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. CDT.
Throughout the 2017 regular season, the Sky will host two Camp Days and its annual School Day game on May 24 to welcome Chicago area youth to Allstate Arena to cheer on their hometown team. The first camp day game will take place on June 28 when the Sky hosts Eastern Conference rival the Indiana Fever. The second camp day game is slated for July 12 against Notre Dame graduate Skylar Diggins and the Dallas Wings. The Sky will close out the regular season at home with "Fan Appreciation Night" as they play host to 2016 WNBA Rookie of the Year Breanna Stewart and the Seattle Storm on Sunday, September 3 at 5 p.m. CDT.
With the 9th overall pick in 2017 WNBA Draft presented by State Farm, the Chicago Sky will have the opportunity to add talents from this year's draft class to the roster prior to the start of the season.
