
Chicago Red Stars Announce Partnership with Loyola Sports Medicine

CHICAGO (March 17, 2014) - The Chicago Red Stars today announced a one-year agreement with Loyola University Medical Center's Sports Medicine experts as the official health care provider of the team for the 2014 season.
Under the agreement, Loyola Sports Medicine - a premier, multidisciplinary program that provides medical and rehabilitative care for active and athletic individuals throughout the western suburbs and Chicago area - will extend its support services to the Red Stars. Those services include a wide range of preventive care, advanced diagnostic imaging, leading-edge therapies, surgical treatments, including minimally invasive procedures and rehabilitative services throughout the team's NWSL season. Loyola Sports Medicine will also have a presence at all Red Stars home matches.
"Loyola Sports Medicine has excellent resources and is truly committed to providing our athletes with responsive, top-quality care," said Red Stars General Manager Alyse LaHue.
The Loyola Sports Medicine team will be led by orthopaedic surgeon Pietro Tonino, M.D., and family medicine/sports medicine expert Haemi Choi. M.D.
The Chicago Red Stars open their 2014 season at Toyota Park on April 19 at 5pm against Western NY Flash. The team then returns to its home stadium at the Village of Lisle - Benedictine Sports Complex on April 26 at 7pm.
