Flash Announce 25-Player Preseason Roster

ELMA, N.Y. ( Monday, March 17, 2014 ) - After one week of National Women's Soccer League preseason, the Western New York Flash has announced its 25-player preseason roster. Per league rules, the Flash's preseason roster has been reduced from its original size of 29.
Absent from the roster is goalkeeper Adrianna Franch, who will miss the 2014 season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during the club's first week of training.
Carli Lloyd and Emma Kete are expected to arrive in Buffalo this week, with Lloyd reporting to camp on Thursday and Kete coming in the day before. Abby Wambach, Samantha Kerr, Vicky Losada and Adriana Martin are all expected to arrive next week.
In addition, defender Estelle Johnson and midfielder Sarah Huffman are currently not in camp, but are still under contract with the club.
There are also two new names on the roster, as WNY has brought former University of Denver midfielder Nicholette DiGiacomo and Torres CF goalkeeper Arianna Criscione into training camp.
The Flash will face its second test of the preseason on Saturday afternoon when West Virginia University comes to Sahlen Sports Park. The 3 p.m. game is currently at capacity and fans can follow along on the Flash's Twitter page, @WNYFlash.
