CHICAGO (February 24, 2014) - The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced Monday that the club has acquired allocation money from the Philadelphia Union in exchange for defender Austin Berry. Per MLS and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"This move was necessary in order to get to cap compliant by March 1," said Chicago Fire Head Coach and Director of Soccer Frank Yallop. "We thank Austin for his service to the club over the past two years and wish him the best as he takes the next steps of his career."

A Cincinnati, Ohio native, Berry was selected by the Fire in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft after a collegiate career at the University of Louisville. Berry made his professional debut against Chivas USA on May 4, 2012 and made a total of 62 appearances for the Men in Red.
