Chicago Fire FC News Release
CHICAGO (May 29, 2015) - The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced Friday that the club has loaned Mike Magee and Kingsley Bryce to USL affiliate Saint Louis FC. The Fire retain the option to recall the players during the loan period.
"As Mike is now in the final stretch in his return from surgery, we thought that it would be good for him to join Saint Louis FC for the weekend to gain additional match fitness," said Fire Head Coach and Director of Soccer Frank Yallop. "This loan is a great opportunity for Kingsley to get meaningful games under his belt. He's a young player and this move can only help him as he continues to develop."
The 2013 MLS MVP, Magee underwent a right hip procedure to address an injury of the labrum and to repair articular surface damage on Sept. 9, 2014.
Selected in the second round (28th overall) of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, Bryce spent four years at Saint Louis University, where he scored 23 goals and added 12 assists in 79 matches. The Plano, Texas product was named Second-team All-Atlantic 10 Conference and A-10 All-Championship team in 2013. In his junior season, Bryce recorded a team-high four game-winning goals, tied for the most in the conference. A graduate of Jesuit Prep in Dallas, Texas, Bryce helped the Rangers to the Texas 5A state championship in his senior year and a perfect 25-0 record.
Magee and Bryce join Fire Homegrown defender Patrick Doody and goalkeeper Alec Kann on loan with Saint Louis FC.
