Chicago Fire FC News Release
CHICAGO FIRE TO FACE ST. LOUIS CITY SC AWAY ON SATURDAY NIGHT DURING RIVALRY WEEK
Chicago Fire FC will travel to face St. Louis CITY SC at CITYPARK this Saturday, May 11 as part of MLS Rivalry Week, which features some of the best matchups from across the league. Chicago enters the contest leading the all-time head-to-head series against their Midwestern rival, with a 2-0-0 record across all competitions since St. Louis entered MLS as an expansion side in 2023. Last season, the Fire faced St. Louis at home twice in five days, with their first official meeting occurring in the Round of 32 of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on May 9, 2023, at SeatGeek Stadium. In the match, Chicago came out on top, defeating St. Louis, 2-1, to advance to the Round of 16.
Four days later, Chicago hosted St. Louis in the first regular season contest between the two sides and had a similar outcome. Off the heels of a Rafael Czichos goal in the opening half, the Fire would hold on and defeat the Western Conference side at Soldier Field. A cross into the box from Designated Player Xherdan Shaqiri found the German defender, who redirected the ball into the goal with a sliding effort.
Kickoff for Saturday's match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast globally on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and will also be transmitted locally on 890 WLS-AM (English) and WRTO 1200 AM (Spanish).

by the numbers
40 - Goalkeeper Chris Brady currently ranks T-4 in MLS with 40 saves made through 10 appearances this season. Brady added three more saves to his season log in the team's most recent match against New England. The Homegrown goalkeeper has a game in hand and is the only goalkeeper under the age of 21 in the top-10 in saves this season in the entire league. The only player within five years of age with Brady in the top-10 in Jonathan Sirois (MTL - 22).
4 - After making his MLS debut last weekend, Chicago Fire FC II winger Omari Glasgow became just the fourth Guyanese-born player to make their debut in League history. Glasgow additionally became the first MLS NEXT PRO contracted player to appear in an MLS regular season match for the Fire. Glasgow recorded 11 minutes of action after coming in for Homegrown Brian Gutiérrez.
97 - With his 98th MLS appearance, midfielder Brian Gutiérrez is just two games away from becoming the second Homegrown in Club history to reach 100 matches played. Gutiérrez would join current teammate Mauricio Pineda as the only Fire players to reach the mark since the introduction of the Homegrown Player rule in 2008. If Gutiérrez appears in two more games before his birthday on June 17, he'll be just the ninth player in MLS history to reach 100 career games played before the age of 22.
