CHICAGO - Chicago Fire FC will begin the second phase of the continuation of play on the road versus Orlando City SC at Exploria Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 19. The match will begin at 6:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on WGN-TV and ESPN+ and transmitted locally in Spanish on 105.1 WOJO-HD2. The pregame show, presented by CIBC, will begin at 6:15 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
Heading into Saturday's match, the Fire (2-6-3, 9 points) are coming off a 2-2 draw with league-leader Columbus Crew SC at Soldier Field yesterday afternoon. Midfielder Djordje MihailoviÃâ¡ recorded his first goal of the season in the match, while forward Robert BeriÃâ¡ notched a goal and an assist, earning Heineken Man of the Match honors. With the draw, the Fire's 2020 home record stands at 1-1-1.
Saturday's game marks the first meeting between the Fire and Orlando City in 2020. Chicago enters the match unbeaten on the road against Orlando, producing a 2-0-3 all-time away record against the Lions. In their most recent matchup, the Fire secured a 5-2 win at Exploria Stadium on Oct. 6, 2019, marking the Club's largest road victory of the 2019 campaign.
Orlando City (5-2-4, 19 points) enters the match unbeaten in their last five league games (3-0-2). The Lions recently defeated 2020 expansion side Inter Miami CF 2-1 at Exploria Stadium on Saturday. Forward Chris Mueller leads the team with six goals.
