
Chicago Blackhawks Sign Plymouth Whalers Forward Ryan Hartman to Entry Level Contract

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Ryan Hartman, the team's first-round selection (30th overall) in the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft, on a three-year contract.
Hartman, a West Dundee, Ill., native, has posted 21 points (10g, 11a) in 20 games this season with the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League. He leads the Whalers in points, while ranking second in goals and sharing third in assists. Hartman has earned at least one point in 13 games this season, including a season-high three points (2g, 1a) on Oct. 5 vs. Saginaw.
The 19-year-old forward has tallied 81 points (33g, 48a) in 76 career games with Plymouth, and registered six points (4g, 2a) in nine OHL playoff games during the 2012-13 campaign. Prior to joining the Whalers, Hartman recorded 76 points (38g, 38a) in 115 games with the United States National Team Development Program from 2010 to 2012. He won gold medals with the U.S. team at the 2013 World Junior Championship, posting three points (2g, 1a) in seven games, and at the 2012 Under-18 World Championship where he recorded six points (2g, 4a) in six contests.
