Chris Marchese let his play do the talking against his old team on Saturday night.
The former Otter had a goal and two assists, leading the Spitfires (24-25-3-2) to a 5-0 win over Erie before 5,890 at the WFCU Centre.
Jaroslav Pavelka stopped all 33 pucks he faced for his second shutout of the season.
Ben Johnson, Kerby Rychel and Brady Vail all had a goal and an assist, as Windsor pulled back within two points of Saginaw for sixth place in the Western Conference.
After a scoreless opening 20 minutes, the Spits took a 2-0 lead with goals by Zack MacQueen and Vail in a 61-second span of the second period.
Rychel pushed the lead to 3-0 with his team-leading 33rd of the season at 19:11.
Marchese was in on both goals in the third period; potting 15th of the season at 9:48 before setting up Johnson's 13th to round out the scoring at 16:20.
Since arriving in Windsor back on December 14th, Marchese has maintained a solid, point-per-game clip with nine goals and eight assists in 17 contests.
