25th Annual Shiver on the River Contest Winners Announced

The 25th Annual Saginaw Spirit Shiver on the River Walleye Contest brought to you by the Dow Chemical Company has come to a close. The unusually warm temperatures did affect the number of participants that signed up for this year's competition however it didn't stop everyone. Chris Richardson of Kawkawlin reeled in first place with an 11.145 pound walleye. Richardson with take home the Grand prize of $1000, a free mount from Ron Acker Taxidermy & an E & J VSOP Ice Shanty. David Marx of Saginaw came in second place with his catch weighing in at 9.655 pounds and will take home $700. Mike Tilot of Hemlock came in Third place at 9.555 pounds. This year's walleye award winner having the closet fish weighing in at 7.11 pounds is Stanley Czymbor of Glennie his walleye came in at 7.155 pounds. Czymbor wins a $100 7-eleven gift card, $100 Gander Mountain gift card along with a Free Mounting from Ron Acker Taxidermy.

All of the top 25 winners will be honored at the Spirit Game on February 25th during the Annual Ice Blast Festival. The Festival includes a heated tent, live music, drink specials and much more. Each winner will receive two complimentary tickets to the game.
