
Checkers Open Training Camp Friday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers will officially open training camp for the 2007-2008 season Friday at the Extreme Ice Center, located in Indian Trail, North Carolina.
Training camp is highlighted by a Blue vs. White scrimmage on Wednesday, Oct. 10 and a home exhibition game against the Columbia Inferno at the Extreme Ice Center on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 1:30 p.m. All training camp practices are open to the public and media.
Charlotte's training camp schedule is as follows:
Friday, Oct. 5: Team Physicals
Saturday, Oct. 6 and Sunday, Oct. 7: Practice, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Monday, Oct. 8 and Tuesday, Oct. 9: Practice, 10 a.m. -12 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 10: Blue vs. White Scrimmage, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 11 and Friday, Oct. 12: Practice, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Following practice on Friday, Charlotte will visit South Carolina for first exhibition game at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 13: Checkers second exhibition game taking place at 1:30 p.m. at the Extreme Ice Center against the visiting Columbia Inferno.
Sunday, Oct.14: Off Day
Monday, Oct. 15- Thursday, Oct. 18: Practice 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Tickets for the Oct. 13 exhibition game against the Columbia Inferno can be purchased at the Extreme Ice Center located at 4705 Indian Trail-Fairview Road, Indian Trail, NC. The afternoon will include activities for kids and their families and all tickets are just $5. For questions, please call 704-882-1830.
The Checkers enter their 15th season of play as a member of the ECHL on Oct. 19 against the Columbia Inferno. In the team's 14-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 10 times including three consecutive playoff appearances to date. The Checkers will enter their third season of play at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena this fall. Season tickets are on sale now with full-season packages starting at just $399.
