Bombers presence strong in AHL training camp

Dayton, OH- The 2007 American Conference Champion Dayton Bombers are making their presence known at the 2007 Syracuse Crunch training camp.

Bombers defenseman Tom Sawatske and RW Chanse Fitzpatrick have been invited by the Crunch, the Bombers' American Hockey League affiliate, to attend their training camp, which began Monday, September 24. Sawatske and Fitzpatrick have both signed contracts with the Bombers for the 2007-08 season.

Sawatske and Fitzpatrick join forwards Trevor Frischmon, Yannick Tifu, Phillipe Dupuis, Petr Pohl and Jeffrey Szwez; defensemen Trevor Hendrikx and Jakebs Redlihs; and goaltender Dan LaCosta in New York - all of whom spent time in Dayton last season.

The Crunch will play their first preseason contest tonight in Albany, New York against the RiverRats at 7:00 p.m., followed by games on Saturday, September 29 at home against Albany at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, September 30 at home versus the Rochester (N.Y.) Americans at 5:00 p.m.

Goaltender Dan LaCosta is expected to start in net for Syracuse tonight.

The Bombers' Opening Night Extravaganza is Saturday, October 20, against the rival Cincinnati Cyclones (7:00 p.m.) at the Ervin J. Nutter Center. Group tickets for Opening Night are on sale now by calling 775-4747.
