WINNIPEG, MB - The Never Alone Foundation is proud to announce Chase the Cure which is a national bike ride generating cancer awareness and support. Wes Bauer, who will be biking from coast to coast, will preview this four-month journey Friday, May 1st at 3:00 P.M. at Earls Polo Park. Refreshments and Hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Chase the Cure is a coast to coast bike ride from Victoria, BC to St. John's NFLD beginning in May 2009. The purpose of this journey across Canada is two fold. It will not only help raise awareness and education for those directly and indirectly affected by cancer, it will also generate funds for the Never Alone Foundation creating a movement that will transcend provincial boundaries.

Wes Bauer, who's father Lyle survived throat cancer in 2004, will be on hand to discuss the national ride and its worthy cause.

"I feel that it is necessary for people of all ages to generate a strong campaign which will not only raise awareness, as well as generate funds for cancer care and research," said Wes Bauer.

"I'll never forget the day my father told me he had cancer. I watched him battle and fight through it, and now I want to help make a difference for all of those other people affected by this horrible disease."

Chase the Cure will make strategic stops in towns and cities across Canada, with funds to assist both national cancer programs and provincial cancer foundations. The funds will be used to benefit cancer patients by providing comfort to those who are going through treatments and raising research dollars to find a cure.

The honorary ride chairman and perennial CFL all-star Doug Brown will also be present to the media. Together we Ride.
