Charlotte's McKay Suspended Five Games

PRINCETON, N.J. - The East Coast Hockey League announced on Friday that Charlotte Checkers forward Konrad McKay has been suspended five games for his actions in an exhibition game against Greenville on October 4.

During a stoppage in play in the second period, McKay left his players' bench on a legal line change and immediately became involved in an altercation on the ice, for which he was assessed a game misconduct under Rule 72(a). After a review of the incident, McKay has been assessed a five-game suspension, pursuant to Rule 72, for his actions.

McKay did not play in Charlotte's four-on-four exhibition games against Greenville and Roanoke in Greenville on October 5 for which he is credited with one game served, and did not play in Charlotte's exhibition game at Greensboro on October 7. McKay will miss Charlotte's games vs. Greenville (Oct. 11), at Richmond (Oct. 18), and at Roanoke (Oct. 19).
