
Charlotte FC Appoints Bryan Scales as Director of Academy

CHARLOTTE, NC - Charlotte FC today announced Bryan Scales as the Club's new Director of Academy.
Scales, who joined the club in 2021 as the U-14 Head Coach, spent over a decade with the New England Revolution as a coach and their Academy Director. The Revs academy produced seven Homegrown signings and saw over 80 academy products earn NCAA Division 1 scholarships during his tenure.
"We're very excited to promote Bryan to be the head of the Charlotte FC academy and we believe he is the right person for this vital role. Since his arrival last year, he has done an extraordinary job in shaping the development of the next generation of Charlotte FC players," said Sporting Director, Zoran Krneta. "He brings with him over 30 years of coaching experience and leadership across multiple levels of youth soccer in the country, including producing Homegrown signings. We're confident his appointment will help elevate the level of play across all age groups of our youth setup as we set forth to build a world-class Academy."
Charlotte FC's academy teams compete in MLS NEXT which provides the best player development experience in North America. Currently, CLTFC fields three full-time teams (U-14, U-15, and U-17) while operating discovery programs for U-12 and U-13.
The Club is committed to operating a fully comprehensive Academy to MLS professional pathway, and beginning in 2023, the Club will field a reserve team in MLS NEXT Pro.
