Throughout the homestand, the RiverDogs will be raising funds and awareness for Project Cool Breeze, a non-profit organization whose goal is to raise money and solicit donations of air conditioners and fans for the elderly to prevent heat-related deaths. During this homestand, The Joe will serve as a drop-off location for new electric fans and air conditioning units that will be donated to Project Cool Breeze. Any fan making a donation receives free admission to one of the games. The RiverDogs will donate all money raised from their nightly "Launch-A-Ball" promotion to Project Cool Breeze.

The Asheville Tourists are making their first and only trip to The Joe this season along with their manager Joe Mikulik, who drew national attention a few weeks ago for an on-field tirade which earned him a hefty fine and a week's suspension from the South Atlantic League.
