The Canton Charge were defeated by the Los Angeles D-Fenders, 114-109, at the Toyota Sports Center on Wednesday night. Canton sits firmly in the #3 seed for the 2013 NBA D-League Playoffs at 28-20, while Los Angeles improved their mark to 21-27 with the victory.

Each team provided strong offensive output in the first quarter, with both shooting 52% from the field and eight Charge players getting into the scoring column. Los Angeles pulled ahead for the 28-26 lead thanks in part to nine assists on their 11 first quarter field goals.

After Canton pulled ahead 35-34 early in the second, the Charge then initiated a 17-3 run over a span of 5:50 that included 11 points from Antoine Agudio to give the visitors a 52-47 lead. Canton held Los Angeles to just 28% from the field in the second in outscoring them 32-14 to take a 58-42 advantage into the half.

The Charge stretched their lead to as many as 25 in the third quarter, but the D-Fenders would not go away quietly. With Canton leading 75-50 with 6:44 left in the third, Los Angeles hit 14 of their final 15 shots from the field to help them pull within 91-79 heading into the game's final period.

The D-Fenders held the Charge scoreless for the first 3:42 of the fourth quarter on a 12-0 run to tie the game at 91-91. Canton then countered with a 9-2 run of their own to pull back ahead 100-93. Los Angeles then forced seven misses and three turnovers on the Charge's final 14 possessions in outscoring them 21-9 over the final 6:15 to complete the comeback.

Antoine Agudio finished with a season-high 23 points on 7-of-16 shooting and two steals in 37 minutes for Canton. Travis Franklin came off the bench to provide 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting with six rebounds in 25 minutes. Micheal Eric had his second-straight game with a double-double and his 12th of the season by netting 13 points with 11 boards and a season-high four blocks in 27 minutes. Jorge Gutierrez added 14 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals in 33 minutes.

Los Angeles was led by Morris Almond's 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting in 42 minutes. Elijah Milsap poured in 22 points with seven rebounds, 10 assists and four steals in 41 minutes. Lakers assignment Robert Sacre scored 14 points with six boards and two blocks in 31 minutes, while Gary Flowers scored eight points with 13 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two blocks in 36 minutes.

The Charge will cap off the 2012-13 regular season with a pair of back-to-back matchups with the Reno Bighorns beginning Friday, April 5th at 10:00 p.m.
