Tampa Bay Rowdies News Release
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Rowdies will take the field this weekend looking to bounce back from a loss against New York with a tough match in Charleston.
Here are a few of the biggest matches happening in the Eastern Conference this weekend.
Charleston Battery vs. Tampa Bay Rowdies
Saturday, 7:30 p.m. | ESPN+
Charleston played just one match in the entire month of August as weather and bus accidents conspired against the Battery. Maybe the Rowdies can hope Charleston is a little rusty this weekend.
Tampa Bay still leads the Eastern Conference as of today but could kick this match off in second place depending on New York's result Friday night. The Rowdies have never earned a point from a match in Charleston.
New York Red Bulls II vs. Saint Louis FC
Friday, 7 p.m. | ESPN+
New York can claim first place at least temporarily with a win over Saint Louis FC. The Red Bulls are currently riding a six-game unbeaten run.
Saint Louis FC beat Bethlehem last weekend to claim its first league win since April 27. The Rowdies will be hoping for another win to keep New York off the pace.
North Carolina FC vs. Indy Eleven
Saturday, 7 p.m. | ESPN+
North Carolina FC is in a tie with Indy for third place but trails on tiebreakers heading into this head-to-head match-up. NCFC could create some breathing room with a home result.
Indy lost last weekend in Nashville and now faces a tough trip to North Carolina. If it loses and Nashville beats Swope Park, Indy could slip all the way to fifth by the end of the weekend.
