Celtic Loan Recalled from Independence

Charlotte (NC) - The Charlotte Independence professional soccer team announced midfielder Mark Hill has been recalled by Celtic FC for the remainder of the USL Championship season. Hill made six starts and nine appearance this season for the Independence, totaling 480 minutes played. The 22-year-old Scottish midfielder set up the go-ahead goal off a free kick in the Independence's win over Bethlehem Steel FC.

Additionally, the Charlotte Independence have signed goalkeeper Josh Old to an academy contract. The 18-year-old Charlotte native is committed to join former Independence Goalkeeper Coach Joel Tyson and the Wofford University Men's Soccer team this fall.

The Independence will next be in USL Championship action on Saturday, August 3rd as Louisville City FC visits the Sportsplex at Matthews. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET and the game is presented by Great Clips. Fans will be treated royally with complementary blue hair dying. Tickets are now on sale.
