Chad Owens Named CFL Special Teams Player of the Week

Toronto - The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is excited to announce that SB/KR Chad Owens has been named CFL Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance during CFL Week 1 in Winnipeg.

For the twelfth time in his career, ninth time for special teams, Owens has been awarded player of the week honours. He is coming off a game in Winnipeg that included his first punt return touchdown since the 2012 Eastern Semi-Final. Owens finished the game with three punt returns for 85 yards and one touchdown, on top of leading the team in receiving yards with 78.

Reigning Grey Cup champion Saskatchewan Roughriders will head to Toronto as the Argos will play at home for the first time in 2014 this Saturday, July 5 at 3:00 p.m. Chad Owens is no stranger to the Riders as the last time these two teams faced off at the Rogers Centre he finished the game with nearly 200 combined yards. Fans should arrive early to be part of the Go RVing Canada Tailgate Party outside Gate 11 which starts 1:00 p.m. Tickets for the game can be purchased on ticketmaster or by calling 416-341-ARGO (2746) .
