WINNIPEG, MB., July 1, 2014 - After a dominating offensive performance in last week's 45-21 victory over the Toronto Argonauts, quarterback Drew Willy has been named the league's Offensive Player of the Week.

Willy completed 19 of 27 passes, for 308 yards and four touchdowns. The Bombers jumped out to a 24-0 lead, led in large part by Willy's three first half touchdown passes, including two to receiver Aaron Kelly. This is the first time since 2011 a Bomber quarterback has been awarded this weekly honour.

"This recognition is simply a testament to our entire offence and offensive staff as a whole. Our coaches put us in a great position, every single member of our offence executed well throughout the night, and we were able to be successful. We hope for more of the same come Thursday against Ottawa," said Willy.

This is the first player of the week award for Willy, who made his first career start as a number one quarterback in the Canadian Football League last Thursday.

Winnipeg hosts Ottawa Thursday at Investors Group Field, looking to go 2-0 for the first time since 2011.
