CF Montréal Takes on the HFX Wanderers FC Wednesday Night in Halifax

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia - CF Montréal begins its Canadian Championship title defence against the HFX Wanderers FC, at Wanderers Grounds in Halifax, this Wednesday at 5:00pm EST (One Soccer, 91.9 Sports), in the quarterfinal round of the tournament.

This single-match knockout round will mark CF Montréal's first ever competitive meeting against the Wanderers who compete in the Canadian Premier League. The Maritime side secured its berth into the quarterfinals after defeating AS Blainville 2-1 on August 17, in the tournament's preliminary round. Undefeated in six of its last seven MLS matches, CF Montréal arrives in Halifax after having shut out Chicago Fire FC 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at Stade Saputo. HFX Wanderers FC currently sit in sixth place in the Canadian Premier League table, following a 1-1 draw last Saturday on the road against York United FC.
