Club de Foot Montreal News Release
CARSON, California - CF Montréal lost 4-0 to the LA Galaxy on Monday night at the Dignity Health Sports Park.
Striker Chicharito scored the first goal of the game in the 8th minute of play, and Dejan Joveljic scored on a penalty during first half stoppage time. Rayan Raveloson then scored twice in the second half, in the 60th and 79th minutes.
CF Montréal will fly back to Montreal on Tuesday and will play its next game at Stade Saputo this Saturday at 7:30pm against Sporting Kansas City.
WILFRIED NANCY
"We were losing 2-0 at halftime, but tonight's result is a little severe. The third goal was difficult to take. We created dangerous opportunities, but we were not able to score. If you look at the content of the game, we don't deserve to concede four goals, but we still did. We need to be better in that aspect. But the result is not reflective of how we played tonight."
ALISTAIR JOHNSTON
"We went into this road trip knowing we were taking on two of the top teams in the league. Beating Seattle was great, but it was only half the battle. We came in here knowing this was a different battle. Unfortunately, they got the better of us. We have to regroup now and get ready to take on a Sporting Kansas City team that's desperate for points."
LASSI LAPPALAINEN
"I don't think 4-0 was the right result. Of course, you can't say anything with that result, but we had our chances, and it could've been a different game. We all gave what we had. They just scored on their chances, and we didn't."
