Notes
Monday's match will be the first of two between the Rapids and Austin FC in the regular season this year. It will mark their fourth-ever encounter in MLS and third-ever meeting at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park. The Rapids are unbeaten in their last two matches against Austin (2-0-0), outscoring Los Verdes 4-0 in that span. However, the Texan club drew first blood in the all-time series, recording their first franchise win in the very first meeting between the two sides on April 24, 2021, a 3-1 victory courtesy of a brace from Paraguay international Cecilio Domínguez
Since their inaugural season in 1996, the Rapids have played a total of 24 matches on the Fourth of July, racking up a record of 13-6-5 (W-L-D) and a goal differential of +12 (38 GF, 26 GA) in that span; 2011 and 2020 are the only two years Colorado has not hosted a game on Independence Day.
GK William Yarbrough is one shutout away from surpassing Tim Howard for fourth-most clean sheets in Rapids history. His six shutouts so far this season are T-2nd in MLS. The two-time Liga MX champion is also one win away from tying Howard and Joe Cannon for fourth-most wins in Rapids history (29).
