The grand opening of Gordon Hoodak Stadium at Lauer's Park, scheduled for this Saturday at noon, has been postponed due to the weather forecast. The ceremony has been rescheduled for June 3.
Jim "Mudcat" Grant, a Reading Baseball Hall of Famer and 20-game winner in the Majors, was to be the keynote speaker at the event. "Mudcat" will still be in town and will tour the new facility at noon on Saturday and meet with members of the media.
Gordon Hoodak Stadium was built by Baseballtown Charities, a 501C3 non-profit organization associated with the Reading Phillies.
