Celebrate The 4th Of July With The RiverHawks

The Rockford RiverHawks begin a weekend homestand Friday against the Schaumburg Flyers. Highlighting the weekend are armed forces appreciation days, baseball hat giveaway, and the area's best firework display.

Start the 4th of July weekend off with a bang and the Independence Fireworks show sponsored by Rock Valley College. Friday is US Army and American Legion appreciation night. It's also a Road Ranger Free Gas Friday where random fans in attendance can win free gas. All fans can enjoy a Friday Fish Fry by visiting the concession stands at the ballpark for a fish and chips basket. In addition, Friday is a 2nd Cousins Bar and Grill and Miller Lite dollar beer night. Game time is 7:05 p.m.

Saturday, the RiverHawks host the Lake County Fielders for the first time in team history. Gerber Collision and WIFR are giving away baseball hats to the first 1,000 fans. It is US Marines, US Navy, and VFW appreciation night. Roxy Carmichael hosts Ladies' Night. Game starts at 6:05

Sunday is the final game of the homestand, as Rockford takes on the Lake County Fielders. It's a Cost Cutters and MyGofer.com Family day. The Illinois Railway Museum and Midwest Rail Junction provide free train rides during the game. After the game, kids can run the bases. It is Kyle Wright baseball card giveaway day and all players will be available for autographs following the game. Sunday is also US Air Force and US Coast Guard appreciation day. First pitch is 4:05 p.m.
