CDHD Teams up with Boise Hawks to Encourage Vaccinations

BOISE, ID-The Boise Hawks and the Central District Health Department (CDHD) are teaming up to reward children who've hit a home run with their immunizations. The Hawks are sponsoring two Immunizations nights on August and August 11. Kids ages 4-13 who are current with their immunizations will be eligible to receive a voucher for a free ticket to one of the Hawks Immunization nights, after a review of their vaccination records by their primary care provider or the health department.
Starting this week area vaccine providers and CDHD are reviewing children's immunizations records and issuing vouchers when the records are complete or are completed at the time of the visit. CDHD will also have a booth at Memorial Stadium for the home games on August 2, 4 and 11, to review immunization records and issue vouchers. The supply of vouchers is limited, so parents are encouraged to arrange a record review with their primary care providers or the health department as soon as possible. The sooner vouchers are redeemed for the games on August 4 and 11, the better the chance of getting seats at those games.
With new immunization rules for school enrollment, the timing of the Hawks Immunization Nights couldn't be timelier. Children entering day care, kindergarten and the seventh grade will need to be current with age appropriate vaccinations. Failure to comply could mean the children are excluded from classes until they are current with their vaccinations or until the parents have filed the proper papers for exemptions.

The Hawks began Northwest League play as an independent club from 1987-89. The team was affiliated with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim from 1990-2000 and have been with the Chicago Cubs since 2001.
