Cats Trade Sheridan for Bishop
July 4, 2013 - United League Baseball (ULB)
Fort Worth Cats News Release
Before Wednesday's extra innings loss to the Alexandria Aces, the Fort Worth Cats made another roster move, trading starting pitcher Eric Sheridan to the McAllen Thunder in exchange for outfielder Cody Bishop.
Bishop will add depth to a depleted Cats' bench. For the past few weeks, the Cats had been going with a two-man bench, so adding another position player will allow the team more options late in games and in pinch-hitting opportunities.
In 145 at-bats this season, Bishop has a .214 average, 31 hits including six doubles, a triple and a home run, 19 RBI and three stolen bases.
Bishop will be on the roster for Thursday's game against the San Angelo Colts.
Sheridan will join the last place McAllen Thunder for their next game on Friday. Sheridan has a 4-2 record in eight starts this season. He has a 4.23 ERA in 44.2 innings pitched.
Tickets to see Bishop and the Cats can be purchased by calling (817) 332-CATS or by going online to FWCats.com.
