Fort Worth Cats News Release

The Fort Worth Cats lost an 11-inning thriller to the Alexandria Aces on Wednesday night at LaGrave Field.

The Cats (25-15) scored in the first inning, but the Aces (21-19) rallied to go up 4-1 in the fourth inning.

Heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Cats trailed 7-3, but as they did three times in Tuesday night's affair, the team came back to tie the game - the tying run coming on a Shelby Ford double that just missed clearing the right field fence.

For the second straight night at LaGrave Field, the Cats and Aces played extra innings.

The Aces went ahead in the top of the 11th on a Stephen Nikonchik wild pitch.

The game was suspended during the fireworks show, which was supposed to take place after the game but needed to start by 11 p.m.

With one out in the 11th, Cameron Monger drove the ball to deep right-center field where Aces center fielder Cameron Bunting made a diving grab and doubled off Ryan Miller at first base.

The Cats spit the series 2-2 with the Aces and host the San Angelo Colts (22-18) on Thursday, July 4 at LaGrave Field.

Tickets to the July 4 game and all other home gams can be purchased by calling (817) 332-CATS or by going online to FWCats.com.
