
Cats drop opener to Rocket

The Moncton Wildcats dominated the opening period but ended up on the wrong side of a 2-1 loss to the PEI Rocket at the Charlottetown Civic Centre on Friday night.
The Cats took the lead at 17:14 of the first as Allain Saulnier scored from Raphael Bussieres and Matt Bissonette.
The Rocket tied the game at 8:55 of the middle frame on Jordan Southern's marker and took the lead on the power-play at 15:18 on Ben Duffy's goal.
Neither team scored in the third period. The Rocket outshot the Cats 28-21. On the power play, the Wildcats went one for four, while the Rocket were 1 for 3.
The Wildcats travel to Bathurst on Sunday for a 4 o'clock game against the Titan. Follow the game on News 91.9 with Les Stoodley calling the play.
