Moncton Wildcats News Release

Rivalry Cup Round 7 Tomorrow Night:

The Wildcats take a 4 point lead into Harbour Station for tomorrow night's Rivalry Cup Round 7 contest with the puck dropping at 7:30. The game is the first part of a two part Fan Challenge worth 2 points. The team with the most fans wearing the team colors in the opposition's rink, gets the points, so we want Wildcats colors to fill Harbour Station. There's a limited number of Ambassador Loyalty passes with a reduced price for the game at the Wildcats office, get yours today.

If you want to make a mini-vacation of the game, stay at Chipman Hill Suites, just five minutes from Harbour Station. 10% of the room rate with the code Wildcats will be donated to season ticket holder Kevin Rickard who is waging a fight against cancer. The offer is good for either game night or the night before or after the big game.

Last Regular Season Road Game Saturday:

The big Cats team bus makes its way up the North Shore on Saturday as the Wildcats complete their regular road season against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in a 7 o'clock contest. Follow both the Friday and Saturday night games on the official voice of the Wildcats, News 91.9 and on the Telus website. Regular play-by-play host Les Stoodley will be back behind the mic after being on the disabled list for three games.

Final Home Stand Starts Monday:

The Wildcats begin their final home stand of the season on Monday night with a make up game against the Montreal Junior at 7pm. The final three home games are set for Thursday and Friday of next week with starts at 7 and the big Rivalry Cup Round 8 game on Sunday night at 8pm (note the time change), the game will be carried nationally on Rogers Sportsnet.

Reading Is Wild Soars Over Goal:

It's been a Wild year for the Wildcats Reading is Wild program. Now in its final week, the students of Forest Glen, Beaverbrook, West Riverview and Dorchester Elementary have topped the goal of 26,500 books to be read with a total, as of yesterday, of 31,189. Sponsored by the Times&Transcript and RBC, the program promotes literacy. In its 12 year history, 519,608 books have been read to date.

Each participating school receives books to the value of $1,000.00 for their school libraries. The students were guests of the Wildcats at last Sunday's game against the Halifax Mooseheads.

Awards Night-Pep Rally set for March 18th.

The familiar line, "and the winner is" will be heard at the Wesleyan Celebration Centre on Thursday March 18th at 7pm, when the Wildcats hold their annual Awards Night and Pep Rally. Fans can vote for several of the awards by filling out the ballot in the Times&Transcript, which is the presenting sponsor for the big night. Ballot boxes are located at participating Pizza Delights and offer a chance for fans to win 1 of 100 Award Night tickets. You can get tickets for the special night, a natural build up to the playoffs, at Franks Music, Steve's Diner and on line at www.ticketwindow.ca.

For season ticket and flex pack holders, there's a special loyalty ticket available at the Wildcats office only, it's priced to say thank you for your continued support.
