Olympiques Down Juniors 2-1

Montreal Juniors News Release
Montreal, March 4th, 2010- The Montreal Juniors hosted the Gatineau Olympiques tonight and held on to a 2 to 1 victory. Jean-Francois Berube led the way with 29 saves. The Juniors are now 30-27-2-4 and the Olympiques are 27-31-1-4.
Montreal put on an offensive clinic in the first, but they just could not find the back of the net. Luck prevailed for the Olympiques as the Juniors rang the puck off post several times. The only goal in the period came from Olympiques captain Hubert Labrie, who sniped one from the point for his forth of the season at 13:05. The luck that Gatineau had eventually faded away in the second period as the Juniors tied the game when forward Eliezer Sherbatov fed the puck right in front for Trevor Parkes, who tapped home his twenty-sixth of the year, at 9:20. Winger David Rose redirected Hubert Genest's shot as he gave the Juniors the lead going into the third period. The Juniors were able to hold on in third with its sound defence. Goaltender Jean-Francois Berube also stood tall as he made several key saves down the wire to earn the win.
Juniors goalie Jean-Francois Berube stopped 29/30 shots in the win while his counterpart, Maxime Clermont, rejected 22/24 shots in the loss. The Juniors will now head east for a three game road trip starting with the Victoriaville Tigers tomorrow, and then to Lewiston and Moncton. The Juniors will conclude the regular season with two games against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies at 7:35PM on Friday, March 12th, and Sunday, March 14th at 4:05PM.

Montréal, le 4 mars 2010 - Après quatre parties sur la route, le Junior de Montréal était pr=EAt =E0 accueillir ses partisans =E0 l'Auditorium de Verdun, en affrontant les hommes de John Chabot. Le Junior est sorti vainqueur de ce match en l'emportant par la marque de 2-1 et détient une fiche de 30-27-2-4 tandis que les Olympiques sont =E0 27-31-1-4.
Lors du premier vingt, le Junior a opté pour une défensive solide mais n'a pas su trouver l'arrière du filet, malgré qu'ils aient frappé le poteau =E0 plusieurs reprises. Le seul but de la période a été marqué par le capitaine des Olympiques Hubert Labrie, son quatrième de la saison, =E0 13 :05. La chance était du c=F4té du Junior pour le deuxième tiers, alors que Sherbatov a remit la rondelle devant le compteur vedette Trevor Parkes qui a pu en profiter pour marquer son 26e de la saison, =E0 9 :20. L'ailier David Rose a =E0 son tour redirigé un tir de son coéquipier Hubert Genest pour donner l'avance =E0 son équipe avant la troisième période. Le Junior a tenu bon durant l'engagement final et le gardien Bérubé a fait des arr=EAts clé pour mener son équipe =E0 la victoire.
Devant le filet du Junior, Jean-François Bérubé a bloqué 29 des 30 tirs des Olympiques, tandis que le gardien adverse, Maxime Clermont, en arr=EAtait 22 sur 24.
La formation montréalaise, se dirigera maintenant vers Victoriaville pour croiser le fer avec les Tigres ce vendredi soir =E0 19h. Ensuite, le dimanche 7 mars, ils affronteront les MAINEiacs de Lewiston =E0 16h, ainsi que les Wildcats de Moncton, lundi =E0 19h. Notre Junior sera de retour =E0 domicile pour le premier de ces deux affrontements finals contre les Huskies de Rouyn-Noranda, vendredi le 12 mars =E0 19 h35.
