Important Weekend Road Trip: Note Times!

* As you sip your Cats Coffee Cup this morning, the Wildcats are getting ready for one of the most challenging road trips of the season. With a seven game winning streak on the line, the team begins a three game road trip in three days. Tomorrow night in Victoriaville, the Cats face the powerful Tigres in a 9 o'clock Atlantic Time start. Then on to Drummondville Saturday for an afternoon game at 5 ADT, on Sunday, they go against Patrick Roy and the Quebec Remparts in another 5 o'clock start. A bus load of fans is making the trip and will be cheering the Wildcats. Les Stoodley will provide coverage of the games on News 91.9 and the Telus webcast.

Rescheduled Games/Rivalry Cup Round 6

* The dates for the two rescheduled games from November have now been confirmed. On February 2nd, the Wildcats will host the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and on March 8th the Montreal Juniors.

* Rivalry Cup Round 6 is set for the Coliseum on February 6th, not too early to make plans to attend that big Cat and Dog fight. Look for more details soon in the Coffee Cup.

Cats Community Calendar:

- Six Wildcats went for a skate at the Moncton City Hall and Centennial Park outdoor rinks on Tuesday, it was a warm up for the annual Party on the Pond Family Day which will take place on Sunday February 7th from 1 to 4 pm. Make plans now to be a part of this day of outdoor winter fun.

- Reading is Wild launches its new season next Monday, January 25th. Again this year RBC,and the Times&Transcript will sponsor the five year program at four elementary schools. Participating schools this year are Beaverbrook, West Riverview, Forest Glen and Dorchester. Last year 148,419 books were read by the students bringing the eleven year total to 488,419. It's certain the students will surpass the half million mark before the program wraps up on February 26th. The schools receive from the sponsors, $1,000.00 in books for their school library. The students will be guests of the Wildcats on February 28th when they play the Halifax Mooseheads.

- The Peewee Eagles from Oromocto are preparing for their big day with the Wildcats on January 31st. The team won the Old Dutch Food national contest, Top prize was a practice session with their favorite Major Junior team and they naturally picked the Cats. There'll be plenty of excitement when the players spend time with the Wildcats in their dressing room and then hit the ice to learn new hockey skills. They'll also be guests of the Cats on February 19th when the Rimouski Oceanic come to town.

* The annual Wildcats Support the Troops night is set for February 19th. Each year the team salutes the women and men of Canada's Armed Forces in a special pre-game ceremony and pays tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country.

* The 100th Anniversary of the Girl Guides will be commemorated with a special pre-game ceremony during the game against the Shawinigan Cataracts on February 21st.

Season Ticket Holder Heads-Up!

Some season ticket holders still have not picked up their benefit cards which includes discounts for the Roar Store, Boston Pizza, Prestige Lighting and Merry Maids. We'll soon be sending out our playoff package information (hard to believe it's that time of year). Look for your package and fill out the included questionnaire.

Congratulations to # 3, defenseman Brandon Gormley, who was the Wildcats Scholastic Player of the month for December. Brandon also represented the Cats in last night's Top Prospects game played in Windsor, Ontario.
