Moncton Wildcats News Release
New look, new season about to start:
Pre-season excitement was very evident last night at the Coliseum, as Season Ticket and Flex Pack holders turned out for the "Meet the Cats" reception. Highlighted was the unveiling of the new Reebok Wildcats jerseys. Check the new look on the Wildcats website. Veterans Pierre-Marc Lessard and Randy Cameron welcomed the Sauliner twins Alex and Allain, to the Wildcats team and presented them with their new jerseys. The twins in turn presented the veterans with the new look uniforms.
The Reebok Edge Uniform system was launched across the CHL yesterday. The 60 teams in the WHL, OHL and QMJHL introduced the new design of their home and away Edge jersey design to their respective markets. The voice of the Wildcats, Les Stoodley was Master of Ceremonies and also reported live to the "Drive" on the official voice of the Wildcats News 91.9.
Flynn predicts tough Atlantic Division:
The Wildcats head coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Danny Flynn, is expecting the Atlantic Division of the QMJHL to be tough this season. Speaking at last nights "Meet the Cats" reception, Flynn said claiming top spot in the Division, as the Cats did last year, will be no easy task. "All five other teams, Acadie-Bathurst, Cape Breton, Halifax, PEI and Saint John have added strength to their line-ups and it would be a mistake for any of the teams to expect an easy time in interdivision play," he said.
The Wildcats open defense of their Atlantic Division title on Friday night at the Charlottetown Civic Centre against the PEI Rocket. Fans planning to attend the game can call the Rocket Box Office at 902-629-6625. To reach the Box Office at the KC Irving Regional Centre for tickets for Sunday afternoon's game against the Titan, call 506-549-3300 and press 1.
Pick up times for Tickets:
For those who couldn't pick up their season and flex pack yesterday, they will be available today and tomorrow from 10 am to 6 pm, in the Coliseum lobby in front of the Roar Store. Next week the tickets will be available at the Wildcats office from Monday to Friday from 9 to 5. Single game tickets for the Big Home Opening Weekend are now available at the Coliseum Box Office.
Goin' to be a Party:
As the Irish Rovers used to sing, "It's goin' be a party." A Giant Tail Gate Party at the Coliseum parking lot will be the beginning of the spectacular Home Opening on Friday the 18th. The PEI Rocket will be the opposition for the Wildcats.
Saturday the Cats Cup will start a busy day of activity Downtown, with the annual team Bar-B-Q and introduction, followed Sunday by another Tail Gate Party and parking lot entertainment before the Wildcats and Cape Breton Screaming Eagles face off ina 4 o'clock game.
