July 13, 2013 - United League Baseball (ULB)
Fort Worth Cats News Release
For the second straight series, the Fort Worth Cats could not complete the series sweep against the San Angelo Colts on Friday night.
As he did in his last appearance on July 7, Colts' starter Demetrius Banks shut down the Cats' offense.
Over seven innings, Banks allowed six hits and three runs - all of which came in the third inning.
Prior to Friday's game, the Cats (31-17) had outscored the Colts 32-10 in the series.
The Cats held that 3-0 lead until the Colts (24-24) put up four in the sixth inning off starter T.J. Bozeman and reliever Matt Eshleman.
The Cats tied it with a run in the eighth inning off a Cameron Monger single to right field, but on the same play, pinch hitter Thomas McAlpine was thrown out at home trying to score.
San Angelo went on to take the lead for good in the bottom half.
Fort Worth takes on the Edinburg Roadrunners (20-27) on Saturday to begin a four-game road series.
After the Edinburg series, the Cats head home to start a four-game series against the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings beginning on Wednesday.
