Cats Blank WhiteWings for Second Straight Night

Fort Worth Cats News Release

The Fort Worth Cats shut out the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings 5-0 for the second straight night and recorded their third shut out in four days on Sunday night at LaGrave Field.

The win is the fifth in a row for the Cats (43-26) and they are now three wins or second-place-losses away from clinching a playoff berth.

The Cats put up a crooked number in the first inning on Sunday and never looked back.

Fort Worth scored four runs on two hits and two walks in the first, and that was more than enough for Cole Stephens and the Cats' relief staff.

Stephens went six innings and gave up three hits, walked three and struck out three WhiteWings batters.

Cameron Monger, David Bergin, Chris Ellison and Daniel Meeley finished the night with one RBI apiece.

The WhiteWings (32-38) have now gone 25 consecutive scoreless innings.

The Cats go for the series win over the WhiteWings on Monday at 7:05 p.m. at LaGrave Field.

Tickets to all home games can be purchased by calling (817) 332-CATS or by going online to FWCats.com.
