Trenton Thunder News Release
Ali Castillo drove in two runs and made an outstanding diving play in the top of the ninth to help the Thunder pull out a 6-5 win over the visiting Harrisburg Senators in front of 5,091 fans on Friday night at ARM & HAMMER Park.
With one out in the top of the ninth and a runner on first, Castillo made a diving stop on a ground ball off the bat of Shawn Pleffner to record the second out of the inning. After Caleb Ramsey reached on an infield single to put runners on the corners, Nick Goody retired Tony Renda with a fly ball to right to strand the tying run at third base.
3B Eric Jagielo continued his powerful start to the season with his seventh home run of the season in the bottom of the first. Jagielo's two-run shot scored Ali Castillo and gave him his league-leading 20th extra base hit of the season.
Castillo's RBI single in the fourth inning gave the Thunder a 5-1 advantage and he extended the lead to 6-3 with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. He went 2-for-4, with a run scored and two driven in.
The Thunder earned their first four-game win streak of the season and are over the .500 mark for the first time since May 1.
Aaron Judge (1-for-3, RBI, BB) extended his hit streak to 14 games with a run-scoring single in the third inning. He leads the Eastern League with 44 hits.
Your Thunder will continue their four-game with the Senators on Saturday night at ARM & HAMMER Park. The Thunder will send RHP Brady Lail (1-2, 4.37) while the Senators will counter with RHP Austin Voth (2-2, 4.03).
Saturday night will feature Post-Game Fireworks with Patriotic Themed music. It's also Military Appreciation Night. Tickets can be ordered online at Trentonthunder.com/tickets or by phone at 609-394-3300.
