(Eastlake, OH)--Cleveland Indians outfielder Casey Blake is expected to suit up for the Lake County Captains Tuesday evening, July 11th, when the Captains host the Greensboro Grasshoppers at 7:05 at Classic Park.

Blake, 32, was placed on the disabled list on June 16th with a strained left oblique muscle. He is hitting .304 for the Indians this year, with 10 home runs and 36 RBI in 60 games.

The Captains will be hosting Greensboro, the SAL affiliate of the Florida Marlins, in the opener of a four-game series. Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. For tickets, call (440) 954-WINS or log onto www.captainsbaseball.com.

Blake made his first rehab start Monday night at Akron in the Aeros' 9-4 loss to Reading. Blake hit leadoff and went 1-3 with a double and one RBI.

A durable, everyday player, Blake has never played less than 147 games in a season since joining the Indians as a free agent in 2003.

It will be Blake's first appearance in the South Atlantic League since 1996, when he played 48 games for the Hagerstown Suns after signing with the Toronto Blue Jays in the 7th round.

If he does appear for the Captains, Blake will become the sixth Indians player to rehab with the Captains. Omar Vizquel, Bob Wickman, Jason Bere, John McDonald and Brian Tallet have all played or pitched for the Captains.

The Captains are 10-8 in the second half, and enter Tuesday's game on a three-game winning streak. The Captains currently stand in second-place in the SAL North, three games behind front-running Lakewood. In Tuesday's game, lefty Tom Cowley is scheduled to start for the Captains. Cowley leads the team with a 1.79 ERA.

Traveling entertainer "Christopher" will be on hand at Tuesday's game. It will also be Soccer Night, with special appearances by former Cleveland indoor soccer stars Hector Marinaro and Otto Orf.
