
Carter Hart Ranked #2 North American Goalies

EVERETT, Wash. - Everett Silvertips goaltender Carter Hart was listed as the #2 ranked North American goaltender and forward Patrick Bajkov (BIGH-koff) was ranked #113 among North American skaters in the final rankings of players eligible for the 2016 National Hockey League Entry Draft, announced today in conjunction with NHL Central Scouting.
In total, Hart and Bajkov are among 54 players from the Western Hockey League named to the final rankings, and Hart is the highest ranked WHL player out of either skater and goaltender category. The 2016 NHL Entry Draft is scheduled for June 24-25 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo.
Hart, 17, is in his second WHL campaign as a Silvertip and has posted a 53-29-3-7 record with a 2.22 goals against average and a .917 save percentage with 10 shutouts in 95 career WHL regular season appearances. His 35 wins in this regular season led the WHL and he was second in goals against average (2.14), tied for second in shutouts (6), and second in minutes (3,693), en route to a 35-23-1-3 record and First Team All-Star selection in the Western Conference of the WHL.
Hart is a finalist for the WHL's Goaltender of the Year award which will be presented May 4 in Calgary at the 2016 WHL Awards.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound goaltender has been named WHL Goaltender of the Week four times this season, was named CHL Goaltender of the Week in December, captured the league's Goaltender of the Month award in November, and suited up in the CHL/NHL Prospects Game in Vancouver.
Bajkov, 18, reached career highs this regular season with 28 assists, 46 points and a +9 rating, appearing in 71 games. He has only missed one regular season game over the last two seasons and carries 110 points (50g-60a) and a +2 rating in 199 career games with the Silvertips. This season, he was also tied for second in power play assists (11), and third in power play points (15).
The 6-foot, 180-pound forward currently has three points (1g-2a) with the Silvertips through six postseason games this year.
Evan Fitzpatrick of Sherbrooke (QMJHL) and Pierre-Luc Dubois of Cape Breton (QMJHL) were the top ranked North American goaltender and skater, respectively. Defenseman Jake Bean of the Calgary Hitmen, at #15, was the highest ranked North American skater eligible from the WHL.
