ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, announced that goaltender Chris Carrozzi has been called up to the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

Carrozzi is 16-6-4 with three shutouts, a 2.29 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage in 28 appearances with the Reign this season. He had an 11-game personal unbeaten streak (9-0-2) from Dec. 29 to Feb. 4 and is currently on a four-game unbeaten streak (3-0-1).

The 22-year-old was honored as the ECHL Goaltender of the Month in January. He recorded back-to-back shutouts as he combined with teammate Jean-Francois Berube to set an"ˆECHL regular-season record with 224:14 of consecutive shutout time from Jan. 6-13.

A native of Nepean, Ontario, Carrozzi began the season with the Colorado Eagles where he was 0-1-0. In a combined 29 ECHL games with Ontario and Colorado this season, he is 7th in the league with a 2.43 goals-against average and tied for 4th with a .917 save percentage.

Selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the sixth round (154th overall) of the 2008 NHL"ˆEntry Draft, and under contract to Winnipeg of the National Hockey League,"ˆCarrozzi is 32-27-10 with five shutouts, a 2.92 goals-against average and a save percentage of .903 in 76 career ECHL games with Gwinnett, Colorado and Ontario, and has seen action in"ˆone American Hockey League game with"ˆthe Chicago Wolves last season.

In 2010, Carrozzi was named the Ontario Hockey League goaltender of the year after leading the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors to the Eastern Conference finals.
