North Carolina FC News Release

The Carolina RailHawks host the Montreal Impact on Friday July 13th at 7:30 PM at SAS Soccer Park in Cary. This will be the second of four regular season meetings and sparks are set to fly for this rematch of last Sunday's 2-2 tie.

Montreal is expected to come out and play hard as they will want to cement this newly minted rivalry with a victory against the RailHawks who have only lost once at SAS Soccer Park. They will most likely be without star defender Andres Arango who was sent off early in the July 8th match for his involvement in the scuffle that cleared both benches last week. They will be led by team captain Mauro Biello and Ivory Coast native Charles Gbeke who scored the two goals against the RailHawks last week.

"We are expecting another physical game in Carolina" said Impact captain Mauro Biello. "We ended the last game on a positive note so it will be important to start the game the same way but we know that it will not be easy. It's good for the league because there is already a rivalry between the two teams. Former Rochester Rhinos leaders Scott Schweitzer and Chris Economides bring energy and intensity to their players on the field. On our side, we have to be alert and play well to win the game."

The Carolina RailHawks will be looking to defend their home turf and earn the precious three points while trying to avoid any confrontation. Joey Worthen will want to capitalize on the momentum and the two goals that earned him USL team of the week honors by continuing to look for the chance to score.

"It's a tremendous honor to be named to the Team of the Week," said Joey Worthen. "I think that it was definitely a team effort. We have players on our team who should make the list every week and we showed it in Montreal. Now we have a chance to play against them here at home and we will play to win and bring home the three points."

"It's going to be a physical game that we will be playing full force all the way through, especially after the 2-2 tie last week in Sherbrooke," said RailHawks head coach Scott Schweitzer.

The Carolina RailHawks are partnering with the Raleigh Rescue Mission to help disadvantaged families receive the care they need. Fans are encouraged to bring non perishable snacks to the box office to receive a free match day program. As always children who want to be part of the human tunnel that greets the players before the match, need to meet in the northwest corner of the field about half an hour before kickoff. After the match players will sign autographs at Autograph Alley on the north side of the stadium.

Only two days later the Carolina RailHawks will continue their quest for the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup as the host the Chicago Fire of the MLS at SAS Soccer Park on Sunday July 15th at 7:30 PM.
