Carolina Mudcats News Release
Zebulon, NC --- After returning home from a 12-game road trip and facing a rain-suspended game to be made up as part of two games Sunday, the Carolina Mudcats will play two on Monday as a result of another suspended game on Saturday night.
Carolina was leading Chattanooga 6-0 with one out in the fifth before rains hit. With a short window of relief, the rains stopped and between a race between Mother Nature and the Carolina groundscrew, Mother won. Moments before attempting to restart to record two outs to make an official game, an expected torrential rainstorm began and minutes later the game was suspended.
Saturday's rainout will be made up Monday night beginning at 5:30, finishing its nine innings ahead of a seven-inning game. A suspended game from July in Chattanooga will be completed Sunday at 2:00, followed by a seven inning game. Sunday's first game will be resumed in the top of the first inning with no score.
