Carlos Alvarez Chooses His Colorado Rapids Squad Number

Colorado Rapids News Release
New Colorado Rapids signing, Carlos Alvarez, has gone for a little 'variety' by choosing number 57 as his squad number, but insists there is no special reason behind his decision.
"It was just the jersey I grabbed," he told ColoradoRapids.com. "I'm not really one for having a certain number so I've gone for a big number."
Alvarez wore the number 20 on his back when with previous club Chivas USA. That number was available to him in burgundy and blue, as were - of 1-30 - 14, 18, 24 (which previously belonged to Nathan Sturgis, who moved to Chivas US in exchange for Alvarez), 25, 29 and 30.
But it's number 57 that he will be sporting, just ahead of Danny Mwanga (55), but some way behind the figure adorning the jersey of Marlon Hairston (94).
