Spirits High in the Rapids Camp Ahead of Philadelphia Trip

Colorado Rapids News Release
While learning the lessons, it seems that the Colorado Rapids have worked through their disappointment from last Friday's 1-1 home tie with Columbus Crew, as they now focus on this weekend's trip east to face the Philadelphia Union.
Skipper Drew Moor (pictured right), who will join Richard Fleming in co-hosting this week's Rapids Report (Thursday from 6pm on Altitude), accepted the team's shortcomings but insists that they will travel to Pennsylvania with confidence intact .
Spirits were high at training on Tuesday, while the competitive edge was razor sharp. José Mari continues his rehabilitation, but head coach Pablo Mastroeni otherwise has a full squad to choose from.
Tuesday's session ended with a penalty shoot-out (top picture), in which Rapids defender Marvell Wynne slotted home arguably the best of the lot.
Afterwards Mastroeni was at pains to point out that while the session was fun, it was still about maintaining healthy competition and nurturing the desire and drive to win, in whatever the players are doing. Today, that just happened to be a penalty shoot-out. On Saturday, it will be their next MLS fixture, away at the Union.
